Join Our UMD Accessibility Badging Cohort

You still have time to join us in learning how to create materials that everyone can use.

Why Join the UMD Cohort?

Participating in our cohort is a great way to have a real, positive impact on those around you. It's also a great way to work toward Goal 2 of UMD's strategic plan. In this digital world, you have the opportunity to make sure that no one is unintentionally left out. Be part of the solution. We are here to help one another succeed and we'd love for you to join us.

What Are We Working On?

Currently, our cohort is working on completing the Digital Accessibility: Foundations course. It is an online, self-pace course that can get you started creating accessible content and is the first step in the University of Minnesota (UMN) Digital Accessibility Badging Program.

How Do I Join?

If you'd like to join our casual cohort of individuals working to learn more about improving digital accessibility, please join our Google Group. We'll keep in touch via email and send you calendar invites to our future events.

When is the Next Meeting?

It's not too late to get started yourself! We'll regroup via Zoom on Thursday, December 10, 2020 at 11:00 am to talk about what we learned and decide which skills we want to develop next.

Is there a Recording of the First Meeting?

A recording of the November 12 session is available. Hear from several accessibility experts and UMN employees who directly benefit from our collective work to ensure that emails, documents, websites, presentations, course materials and more are accessible to all.

A big thank you to all of the UMD community members who attended the first Accessibility Badging Cohort meeting. We were pleased that so many UMD employees want to have a positive impact on everyone's ability to successfully access digital content.
