Now is a great time to think about how you can use Canvas and related academic technologies for Fall 2020, next spring and beyond. To assist you, UMD Academic Technologists are currently offering 8 hours of drop-in sessions per week.
Join us for Academic Technology Drop-ins with any questions or curiosities you might have, such as:
- How can I use Canvas to support group work, engagement, or peer review?
- What are some new or different assessment options I could explore?
- How can I improve the accessibility of my Canvas site, instructional videos, or other content?
Drop-in sessions are also a great entry point for exploring new ways to design your course. Come to a drop-in session and find out if other academic technology and course design consultative services are right for you.
How to Attend an Academic Technology Drop-in Session
Drop-in sessions are offered via Zoom. To find a drop-in time and a Zoom link:

What to Expect During Drop-in Hours?
- When you enter the Drop-in Zoom room at the scheduled time, you will be assigned to a breakout room where you can meet with an academic technologist one to one to explore your questions and ideas.
- Academic Technologists will be assigned to your breakout room on a first come, first serve basis.
- During the drop-in session, come with specific technology questions or tell us about a situation you'd like to improve for remote or online delivery. We will do our best to answer your question in the time afforded. If more time is needed, we can schedule an additional follow-up consultation at another time.
