Classroom Wireless Presentations

You can present wirelessly in UMD General Purpose Classrooms.

ITSS Learning Spaces Team is pleased to announce the addition of wireless presentation in all General Purpose Classrooms (GPC) at UMD. Instructors can transmit their laptop screens and sound from anywhere in a GPC without the need for a wired connection. Students can also be given access to the wireless presentation device for presentations to the class.

Benefits of Presenting Wirelessly

  • Eliminates the need to carry a USB Hub or adapter to connect to the projector.
  • Enables the ability to move around the classroom with a laptop while presenting.
  • Instructors can allow students to present from their devices without need for special adapters or sharing of presentation documents.

HDMI Cables

A wired connection using a HDMI cable is still available in GPCs.

VGA Cables

Important: Analog VGA cables have been removed from GPCs. The best solution is to use wireless presentation instead of VGA. If you have questions about VGA, please work with the ITSS Classroom AV staff. There are adapters that may allow you to retain a wired connection.
