The ITSS systems team is welcoming a new member Jacob LeBeau. After he completes the onboarding process and receives necessary training, Jacob's primary duty will be in Linux server administration area e.g. upgrading, patching, monitoring, tuning servers etc, as well as other systems special projects.
Currently ITSS operates more than 150 Linux servers to meet the campus needs in teaching, learning, out-reaching, and research. Jacob's addition is part of ITSS effort to keep these servers up to date and to provide a secure, reliable, and efficient computing environment for the campus.
Jacob received his education from the College of Visual Arts in St Paul and the University of Minnesota Duluth. He has been working in the industry for over 15 years and possesses extensive experience in systems administration, IT management, and web development.
Jacob is a big fan of Duluth and the surrounding area. He enjoys getting outside to stay active in ways such as biking, hiking, camping, and snow sports. For indoor time, he works on his personal computer and web projects, keeps up on film and books, and listens to podcasts. He also likes to travel to explore different areas.
