Classroom News: Fall 2018

Classrooms have new equipment. 1:Button Studio is available. A new Chromecart can be checked out. And a conferencing RFP is underway.

Summer 2018 was productive for the ITSS Classroom Team.

New Equipment

All classrooms now have 1080p projectors, which give “Full HD” imagery. Classrooms are also equipped with Blu-Ray players. Blu-Ray discs are recorded in 1080p. These players will also play regular DVDs and also CDs. In addition to those enhancements, all control systems have also been upgraded. This will enhance the quality of media presentations.

1:Button Studio

The new 1:Button Studio located in Kirby Plaza 174 had 32 bookings in its first semester of business, totaling over 59 hours of use. This space is automated and has a desk, chair, camera, and microphone along with a monitor so you can see yourself. There is a backdrop and the lighting is set up to give the proper visual. The room's iPad has the “one button” for you to press and record your presentation. When you are done, the system emails you a link to your video. The key for 1:Button is at the Kirby Info Desk. If you are interested in learning more about the 1:Button Studio, please refer to 1:Button Studio, Automated Video Recording Space.

New Chromecart

Our TechCenter in Kirby Plaza 165 now has a new Chromecart for checkout. This cart was donated by the University for Seniors group for the benefit of the whole university. It contains 30 Chromebooks and can be checked out for classes, training sessions, or events.
