Accessibility Jumpstarts

The ITSS Academic Technology & Course Design team will be hosting “Canvas Accessibility Jumpstarts” throughout spring semester to assist faculty in meeting the standards for accessible course materials outlined by the Department of Justice in their clarifications on Title II of the ADA.

During Accessibility Jumpstarts, work collaboratively alongside colleagues and ITSS Academic Technologists and Course Designers to begin making accessibility improvements. During a Jumpstart session, you can:

  • Create an attainable plan of action and road map for accessibility work
  • Explore UDOIT and other scanning tools to make efficient updates
  • Understand what accessibility errors surfaced by running UDOIT mean
  • Discover tips for removing and archiving content
  • Brainstorm ideas for remedying slides, PDFs, videos with captions, and images with alt-text

Spring Accessibility Jumpstart Sessions

ITSS Academic Technology & Course Design is hosting “Canvas Accessibility Jumpstarts” as listed below and on the UMD Professional Development Calendar.
