UMD's Academic Technology Team supports solutions for teaching and learning in classrooms, computer labs, and the virtual environment.
Our team of Academic Technologists, Audio-Visual Specialists, and Instructional Designers can:
- facilitate the creation of instructional video and audio content,
- assist in the design of courses, modules, and assignments, and,
- help faculty and instructors connect to systemwide teaching support resources and events.
We actively support university-sponsored academic technologies and resources.

Open a ticket, join a drop-in session, or book an appointment to get assistance with academic technology tools and platforms used for teaching and learning.
Course Design
Instructional designers are available to partner with you to explore how to design or redesign one or more aspects of a course.
Classroom Technology Integration
Learn about the technology that powers campus classrooms and how to integrate it into your courses. UMD’s general-purpose classroom audio-visual equipment includes audio, microphones, document cameras, projectors, interactive displays, and wireless presentation.
Media Hub
ITSS Academic Technology is now integrated with the Media Hub. Discover options for equipment checkout, Linkedin Headshot photos, media accessibility services, events and workshops, and more.
Instructor Development and Events

Student Support
ITSS offers support to students for University-supported tools. Students may contact the ITSS Help Desk for support, or these tools are also supported at the University level by the Twin Cities Helpline. All information can be found on our Support for Students webpage.
