Library Course Materials Navigation in Canvas

Libraries have a wonderful knack for sharing information you need where you need it. For example, they've devised a way to add Library Course Materials to your Canvas site and gain access to high quality scholarly documents, book chapters, and library research guides. (That includes the Course E-Textbooks program which provides free texts to students.)

Oh, and faculty can "request a course-specific Research Guide by consulting their subject librarian.


Getting your class to ChimeIn…

Are you looking for a way for students to chime in a bit more during class? Join a growing number of faculty at UMD who are using ChimeIn, a free alternative to hardware clickers with more advanced functionality.

Participants can access ChimeIn with a mobile device or computer.

Instructors can use ChimeIn with classes to:

  • Instructors can set up ChimeIn to integrate with a Canvas site.
  • Get immediate feedback after a lecture or class activity
  • Have students share when/where they run into class content outside of class
  • Take attendance of who was present in class
