About Multimedia Services

ITSS Multimedia Services provides equipment checkout and services to UMD students, faculty and staff. We maintain an inventory of digital cameras, tripods, backdrops, lighting kits, microphones, projectors, PA systems, and other equipment.

In addition to equipment checkout, we offer the following services:

• Weekly LinkedIn Portrait Photo sessions for UMD students
• Temporary checkout licenses for Adobe Creative Suite
• 1:Button Learning Glass studio in KAML 142
• iMac lab (coming Spring 2027)

Due to space reallocations, the iMac Lab is unavailable for the Fall 2026 semester. A new iMac Lab space is coming Spring 2027. Students, faculty and staff can use iMacs located in the Library or checkout Adobe Creative Suite from the AV Desk.

Virtual and Augmented Reality equipment and support is currently available by appointment only. Please contact the Help Desk to schedule a consultation.

ITSS MediaHub has been closed permanently to accommodate renovations to Kirby Plaza. Services such as 3D printing, CriCut, and lamination will be repurposed in collaboration with two UMD locations.

• UMD MakerSpace - This space will offer access to UMD students to explore 3D design and printing and will feature student experts to assist new users. This space will host 3D printers, CriCut machines, and more.
• Lumio - In collaboration with the College of Art, Humanities, and Social Sciences Art and Design Department, ITSS hosts iMac stations, scanners and other creative software. Staff members will be available to assist with photography, video, animation, and other arts.
