About UMD's MediaHub
The ITSS MediaHub provides technology services to students, staff, and faculty at the University of Minnesota Duluth. We maintain a equipment collection of digital cameras, tripods, backdrops, lighting kits, microphones, and other equipment such as DVD players, projectors, and VR headsets. We are located in Kirby Plaza 165.
Additionally, we offer weekly LinkedIn Portrait sessions to our student community, provide VR Open Houses, and provide temporary licenses for Adobe Creative Suite.

MediaHub CoLab Services
ITSS MediaHub CoLab in Kirby Plaza 143 has been closed permanently to accommodate renovations to Kirby Plaza. CoLab services such as 3D printing, CriCut, and lamination will be repurposed in other UMD locations. During the spring of 2026, the MediaHub will begin two collaborations that will expand access to our community.
We are partnering with Mechanical & Industrial Engineering Department to develop and staff a Maker Space in Voss Kovach Hall. This space will offer access to UMD students to explore 3D design and printing and will feature student experts to assist new users. This space will host the CoLab's 3D Printers' and CriCut Machines.
In collaboration with the College of Art, Humanities, and Social Sciences Art and Design Department, the MediaHub will be enhancing and staffing the VizLab, located in MPAC 154. The CoLab's collection iMac's scanners and other creation software will reside in this space. CoLab staff members will be available to assist with photography, video, animation, and other arts.
Both spaces will be soft launched during January; formal grand-openings can be expect after Spring Break 2026

LinkedIn Portraits at the ITSS TechCenter Portrait Studio
LinkedIn portrait photos are by appointment only and free for all current UMD students. Spring 2026 Sessions will be hosted on Wednesdays throughout the semester. Sessions will begin on Wednesday, January 21.
We are unable to provide portraits sessions for UMD Staff members, group photos, or photos for community members.
Adobe Creative Cloud Access
Students, staff and faculty can request temporary (7 day) Adobe Creative Suite Licenses at Adobe Creative Cloud Access at UM-Duluth. Please allow one business day to process Adobe access requests.
Reserve iMac Lab and Studios
Reserve time in our many production like the 1Button/Learning Glass Studios in KAML 142 and iMac lab in Kirby Plaza 175.
