1 Button Studio

The University of Minnesota's 1:Button Studios are fully automated high-definition video recording spaces with professional studio lighting and sound equipment. They are set up to record high-quality video projects without any knowledge of lights and cameras.

5 types of spaces are available for active learning. A variety of equipment may be checked out for presentations. Detailed step-by-step classroom user guides are online.

Windows and Macintosh computer labs are available for student use. These labs have 2 Access Levels and an array of software and printing options.

Edit video, audio, photos, and websites at the Multimedia Hub. Stop by Library 260 or call (218) 726-6087 to find out the array of equipment available for checkout to help you produce your own videos. We can demonstrate use of still and video cameras, tripods, microphones and recording devices. Or learn how to operate the equipment with our online Equipment Tutorials. Additional services include: Captioning, Audio Description, and Streaming/Digitation.

The ITSS TechCenter in Kirby Plaza 165 combines our services for Help Desk, technical support, computer repair, equipment checkout, classroom, and computer lab support into one area.

ITSS has an interactive television classroom, Kirby Plaza 173 for UMD staff, faculty, and student use. It is staffed with a student technician who will set up the equipment, answer questions, and contact other locations if there are problems. Kirby Plaza 175a doesn't have an ITV codec but is set up for using a laptop and videoconferencing software.
