Email Infrastructure Support Services provides the necessary technologies to support message delivery within the University and the broader Internet.
Service Offerings
Email Infrastructure Support Services provides professionally managed technologies in support of the following:
- Support and maintain the infrastructure and technologies in integrating UMD domain with Gmail infrastructure
- Support and maintain the infrastructure and technologies in integrating UMD domain with the broader Internet email Infrastructure
- Cyber collaboration in maintaining the health of UMD email services
- End user email troubleshooting
Out of Scope
The services does not provide:
- Local email storage
- Email data backup and restoration
User Eligibility
- Individual users: UMD employees and students, retired employees, alumni
- Group users: UMD departmental accounts
Service Availability
The overall service availability will be subjected to Gmail service availability. On top of that, UMD’s email infrastructure’s target service availability is set at 99%. Staff are available Monday through Friday during normal work hours.
Staff are on call for after-hours should any emergencies arise. Users are encouraged to report any service abnormalities to ITSS.
