Spring 2026 Canvas Demonstrations

Join ITSS Academic Technology for Canvas demonstration session to:

  • Review good practices on using Canvas
  • Learn useful tips inspired by frequently asked questions
  • Reveal newer or hidden features

April Canvas demo sessions

The April sessions include a variety of topics

  • UDOIT for scanning Canvas course accessibility issues
    • Including SpeedFixIt and UFIXIT in UDOIT 
  • Canvas Accessibility Checker in Rich Content Editor
  • Remove content from courses that you are not using
  • Retain content you want to keep in a Canvas development site

Two demonstrations with the same topics will each be held for 40 minutes, followed by 20 minutes of Q&A.

 Join Canvas demonstration sessions for topics on getting your Fall 2025 final grades ready, as well as tips for setting up Spring 2026 Canvas Courses 

  • Prep for final grades/ getting your final grades ready
    • Grading scheme (building and applying letter grade scales)
    • Grade cells and filters in gradebook
  • Tips for Setting up Spring 2026 Canvas Courses

Demonstrations will be held for 30 minutes, followed by Q&A.

October Canvas demo 

The two sessions (same content) will  focus on the use of the gradebook, quizzes and assignment, specifically:

  • Classic quizzes vs New quizzes
  • Canvas Quiz/Assignment feature review such as,
    • Moderate a quiz
    • Quiz/assignment accommodations
  • Gradebook filters

May Canvas Demo 

The May Canvas demo session will focus on two topics: Transition on exam proctoring and the New Quizzes updates.

In this session, we will have step by step how-to demos on:

  • Honorlock
    • Exam proctoring tool transition- Proctorio retiring May 31, 2025. Learn how to transit to Honorlock if you plan to continue to use an exam proctoring tool for future semesters.
  • New Quizzes
    • When you import content from a previous course into a new semester, there is an option to convert Classic Quizzes/Question Bank to New Quizzes/Item Bank during import process now.

Demonstrations will be held for 30 minutes, followed by 15 minutes of Q&A.
