Access Levels

A single collegiate fee assessed to all students provides Basic Access Software in addition to other ITSS services and technologies via computer labs or Bring Your Own Device (BYOD).

Courses that use specialized software will have access to software available in Access Plus. Students will be added to Access Plus based on course enrollment, as requested by departmental contacts and instructors.  ITSS does not charge students for Access Plus in computer labs, due to fee changes approved by the Regents of the University of Minnesota.

Requesting Software

Faculty can request software installed for their lab classes via the software request form. Software installation is dependent on the answers to questions such as:

• Will the software's license agreement allow it?
• Is it compatible with our licensing metering software?
• Is it compatible with the other software we currently have on the server?
