Connecting to Classroom Displays

How Do I Connect My Computer to the Classroom Display?

There are 2 ways to connect to a display in an ITSS supported classroom, High-Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) or Wireless Presentation. Even if you intend on using a wired connection in the classrooms, we recommend you become familiar with Wireless Presentation in case you encounter any issues with a hardwired connection.

HDMI Cables

All rooms supported by ITSS have HDMI cables for connecting to the projector or monitors.

USB-C Adapters

If your computer doesn't have an HDMI port and uses Universal Serial Bus C (USB-C), you will need an adapter to plug in the HDMI cable. The only adapter ITSS supports and recommends is this specific Anker 6-in-1 USB-C Hub with PowerExpand.

This adapter is available for purchase from a number of different vendors, including UMD Stores when they have them in stock. Be careful that the correct adapter gets ordered when purchasing from anywhere other than the previous link, there are many variations of these adapters and only the one listed above is one that we guarantee will work with our classrooms.

Wireless Presentation

Our Wireless Presentation device allows instructors and students to wirelessly present in ITSS supported classrooms using the Airtame app or a web browser. We recommend using the Airtame app for the best experience, but the web browser is a good option for students or guest presenters who are not regularly wirelessly presenting. To learn how to use this, visit Wireless Presentation.
