Audio Visual and Classroom Technology

Audio Visual and Classroom Technology services consist of procuring, installing, and maintaining classroom equipment, designing and consulting on campus spaces and events, and managing equipment checkout.

Service Offerings

  • General Purpose Classrooms (GPCs): ITSS funds, purchases, and maintains all AV equipment in GPCs. Equipment is based on room size and accessibility standards. GPCs are ITSS's highest priority over all other spaces on campus.
  • Departmental Learning Spaces: ITSS partners with departments on classroom learning spaces that qualify for the Departmental Learning Spaces Agreement. ITSS typically provides AV labor and standard equipment, while the department typically pays Facilities Management-related costs and other non-technology expenses (for example, tables, desks, and furnishings).
  • Other Departmental Spaces: ITSS consults on rooms that are not GPCs or covered under the Departmental Learning Spaces Agreement. Depending on team availability, ITSS may assist with room design, purchasing, installation, or maintenance.
  • Audio Visual Equipment Checkout: Cameras, tripods, backdrops, lighting kits, speakers, microphones, DVD players, projectors, and more can be checked out through the AV Service Desk. Staff can also provide training upon request.
  • Event Support
    • Limited to pre-event consultations and training.
    • Only available for spaces managed by ITSS.
    • Requires a minimum of two weeks' notice.
