The University offers a variety of self-guided training opportunities.

  • Learning Online 101 - a self-paced course that prepares students for technical and academic success in courses using online content. The course touches on self-motivation, time management, technical skills, and available student support. 
  • Self-help Resources (from UMN Twin Cities)
  • How-to videos on using Canvas and other class-related technology
  • LinkedIn Learning

ITSS offers student training, and is available for customized workshops as needed. Watch our training website and digital signs for workshop and training opportunities, including the regularly offered eClasses on Accessibility (important for anyone considering a career in web design).

We Offer Custom Training!

Schedule a training for a group of 8 or more on any University-supported technology by contacting the ITSS Help Desk. The following are popular topics:

Getting Credit Later

Once you've done these workshops, keep track of them for your resume or internship applications. Kirby Leadership Institute offers support from Kirby professional staff in presenting the information to hiring managers in a way that appeals to them. Commonly tracked items include:
