The University of Minnesota is hosting an accessibility event to engage in conversation, thinking, and learning about access and inclusion.

In coordination with people and institutions around the globe, join us for an online event based on the theme of Built Without Barriers.

GAAD 2024 Includes:

  • Keynote presentation from Ashley Shew, Associate Professor at Virginia Tech and author of the book Against Technoableism
  • Breakout sessions in 4 tracks:

    • Organizational Cuccess
    • Community and Partners
    • Teaching and Learning

Register on the GAAD 2024 Conference Registration Form. Upon submission of this form, the sessions you've selected will automatically be added to your Google Calendar. All times listed are Central Daylight Time.

Accommodations

Live captioning will be provided for all sessions. American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation will be provided during the keynote session.

About Global Accessibility Awareness Day

Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD) is a community-driven worldwide effort in its 13th year. It is held annually on the third Thursday of May and is dedicated to:

raising the profile of and introducing the topic of digital (web, software, mobile app/device etc.) accessibility and people with different disabilities to the broadest audience possible.
