Next Generation Network Meeting to Be Held at UMD

Learn about the project and get your questions answered on March 20.

The Next Generation Network (NGN) project at the University of Minnesota will upgrade all components of the University's network, wired and WiFi. This upgrade is University system-wide and includes UMD's network.

The rationale for the NGN project is threefold:

  1. Replace aging network infrastructure to keep up with network demand
  2. Maintain network reliability and stability
  3. Ensure security

Duluth NGN Town Hall

To better understand the expected impact of NGN on the UMD campus please consider attending the Duluth NGN Town Hall meeting. The agenda will cover topics such project strategy, scope and high-level timelines. There will be lots of time for questions and answers.
