You are here
The University offers a variety of self-guided training opportunities.
- Self-help Resources (from UMN Twin Cities)
- How-to videos on using Canvas, Moodle, and other class-related technology
ITSS offers student training, and is available for customized workshops as needed. Watch our training website and digital signs (located in the TechCenter, outside the TechCenter, and down the hall on 1st Floor Kirby Plaza) for workshop and training opportunities, including the regularly offered eClasses on Accessibility (important for anyone considering a career in web design).
In addition, you can request customized training for your study group, student organization, or other group on any University-supported technology. Popular topics include Google Hangouts, Google Apps (Calendar, Drive, Gmail, etc), Kaltura, and Canvas.
Each fall, ITSS offers workshops to incoming students during Bulldog Bash. We try to be sure to offer information that new students to the University will find helpful. If you have suggestions on future topics, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Getting credit later
Once you’ve done these workshops, how do you keep track of it for later so that you can mention it on your resume when you graduate (or when you are looking for that internship or part-time job)? Kirby Leadership Institute offers a way to track all of your professional development and leadership work, course work, and volunteer hours, with support from Kirby staff in how to make it most appealing to hiring managers.
