Canvas Checklist

Start of the Semester Canvas Events
Kick off your semester with the following 2 events.
1. Canvas Essentials (live, virtual)
The Canvas Essentials (live, virtual) webinar reviews the Canvas interface, tools, and features. Also explored are design decisions in Canvas that impact ease of use and navigation. This session is intended for any faculty, staff, or teaching assistants who are new to Canvas and will be building Canvas course sites.
The date/time and registration are:
- Tuesday, August 22 from 3 to 4 p.m.

2. Virtual Canvas Clinic -- Fall 2023 Semester
This clinic is an opportunity for faculty and instructors to get hands-on support and consultation as they work on Canvas course sites.
It will be held virtually via Zoom on:
- Wednesday, August 23 from 1 to 4 p.m .
- Thursday, August 31 from 9 a.m. to noon.

UMD's Academic Technology Services
Beyond the first week of the semester, the University of Minnesota Duluth offers many different avenues and opportunities to learn more about Canvas, Kaltura, and other educational technologies.
- Academic Technology Support Appointments: Schedule a 1:1 appointment to work with an academic technologist on an assignment, video, quiz, or other academic technology.
- Academic Technology Drop-in: Drop-in to ask questions, ideas, needs etc. related to the technologies for teaching and learning.
- Course Design Consultations: Request a course design consultation to plan, organize, design, re-design, or incorporate multimedia into courses.
