Moodle to Canvas Course Migration Assistance Continues (Deadlines & Forms Updated)

UMN’s Office of Information Technology (OIT) Academic Technology Support Services (ATSS) is in the final phase of the Moodle to Canvas course migration assistance process is in the final phase of the Moodle to Canvas course migration assistance process.

Please note the following deadlines to ensure courses are returned with enough time for post-migration work prior to course start dates.

UMD Teach with Canvas Sessions

Office of Information Technology's (OIT) Academic Technology Support Services (ATSS) and UMD's ITSS Educational Technologists will be again offering a Teach with Canvas Workshop at UMD on Monday, March 11, 2019.

ITSS educational technologists will facilitate this workshop in person from 12:30-4:00 pm in Kirby Plaza 173, bringing in OIT academic technologists to present by web conference.

Participants must register in Teach with Canvas by Wednesday, March 6, 2019.

In this hands-on workshop, participants will explore principles and practices for creating a student-centered and sustainable course site with Canvas. Participants will have the opportunity to work with their own course materials or with sample course sites during activities.

UMD Retreat: Reimagine Your Course Using Learning Science Principles

Educators are invited to (re)design a course to maximize student learning using principles from learning science research. Participants will consider how modifying content, activities, and assessments can help students retain knowledge and transfer what they have learned to new contexts while increasing their motivation. Retreat is May 15-17, 2019. Learn more about UMD Course Design Retreat and apply by March 15.

Teaching Sprints: Call for Proposals

Teaching Sprints are a unique opportunity for faculty and instructors system-wide to (re)design a course or portions of a course for improved learning outcomes and student experience in an intensive four-day program, June 10-13 in Minneapolis. (Travel expenses are not covered.) Participating instructors will have the opportunity to make significant progress on a course-related project with the support they need to make their ideas a reality.
