Our August 13, 2022 news article rolled out Pope Tech, a web accessibility evaluation tool, to our campus. It is available to University of Minnesota website editors who use Drupal and is powered by WebAIM's WAVE tool. The 2 companies, Pope Tech and WebAIM, who are behind the tool are now collaborating to host what promises to be a great conference. As stated on the conference website:
…This virtual conference will provide conference participants with content that will help them mature their practice in digital accessibility. Our goals include:
- Provide a diverse range of perspectives from a diverse group of speakers.
- Share solutions to accessibility challenges.
- Give advice and guidance that helps our participants to actively contribute to providing more accessible digital spaces.
- Bring together a cross section of public and private sector technology professionals from organizations large and small.
The Web Accessibility in Mind Conference will be held online on August 29–30, 2023 from 12pm–5pm US Eastern Time (with a one hour break at 2pm) each day.
Join us for two days of web accessibility presentations!
…All sessions will be streamed live with live captioning and American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation. Sessions will be recorded and made available after the conference.
